FAQS
What's the difference between a bookkeeper and a CPA?
A bookkeeper handles the day-to-day recording of financial transactions, tracking income, expenses, and reconciling accounts. A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is a licensed professional who can do all of that, plus prepare and file tax returns, provide strategic financial advice, represent you before the IRS, and offer higher-level business guidance. At RB CPAs, we offer both, often working together as part of a complete financial picture.
Do you work with individuals or just businesses?
Both. We work with small business owners across all stages of growth, as well as individuals with personal tax and financial planning needs. Whether you're filing a complex individual return or need a full-service accounting partner for your business, we can help.
I'm located outside of Omaha. Can you still work with me?
Absolutely. While we're based in Omaha and love working with local clients in person, we regularly serve clients across Nebraska, Iowa, and throughout the country. Virtual consultations make it easy to connect from anywhere.
What should I expect from the first consultation?
Your first meeting is completely free and carries no obligation. We'll spend time getting to know your situation, your business, your goals, and your current pain points, and walk you through how we can help. It's a conversation, not a sales pitch.
Do you offer year-round tax planning, or just tax preparation?
Year-round planning is actually where we do our best work. Tax preparation is a snapshot; tax planning is a strategy. We help clients make financial decisions throughout the year, timing purchases, managing income, and structuring their business so that when tax season arrives, the return reflects smart decisions made all year long.
What industries do you specialize in?
We have strong experience serving healthcare professionals (dentists, veterinarians, physicians), contractors and trades, real estate investors, professional service firms, and startups. That said, our approach adapts to any small business or individual situation.
What accounting software do you work with?
We work with the most common platforms used by small businesses, including QuickBooks, and can advise on the right tools for your operation.
How is RB CPAs different from other CPA firms?
A few things set us apart: we prioritize proactive strategy over reactive compliance, we limit our client roster to ensure every client gets genuine attention, and as part of The Financial Center, we collaborate directly with financial advisors, attorneys, and insurance professionals, so your entire advisory team is working from the same playbook.
Ready to Take Control of Your Finances?
Your first meeting is complimentary, with no obligation and no pressure. Just a straightforward conversation about where you are and where you want to go. Available in person at our Omaha office or virtually for clients anywhere in the country.
